Privacy Policy

Effective July 18, 2026

Cosmo Sherpa is designed to work without knowing who you are. There are no user accounts, no advertising, no third-party analytics trackers, and no sale or sharing of personal data. This policy explains the limited data the app touches and why.

Location

Your location is used only when you explicitly request it — to compute tonight's sky for where you stand and to estimate travel times to destinations. Specifically:

On-device processing

Sky calculations (sun, moon, twilight, darkness windows), destination rankings, reminders, and Ask Cosmo Sherpa answers are computed on your device. On supported devices, Ask Cosmo Sherpa uses Apple's on-device intelligence; your questions are not sent to our servers — we don't operate any.

Data stored on your device

Saved expeditions, preferences, and settings are stored locally on your device and are removed when you delete the app. Reminders are scheduled through iOS local notifications and never leave your device.

What we never collect

TestFlight beta

If you use the beta through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share crash logs and feedback you choose to send (including screenshots) with the developer, as described in Apple's privacy terms. This data is used only to fix problems and improve the app.

Children

Cosmo Sherpa is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
